What Happens in the Elbaph Arc

Following Dr. Vegapunk's broadcast and the Straw Hat Pirates' escape from Egghead, the crew sets course for Elbaph — the homeland of the giant race and one of the most-foreshadowed locations in the entire series. Elbaph has been referenced from the Little Garden Arc (episodes 70-77) onward, when the Straw Hats first met the giant warriors Dorry and Brogy and learned of the legendary warrior nation in the New World. Two-plus decades of broadcast later, Luffy and the crew finally arrive.

Elbaph is established in earlier arcs as the home of the Giant Warrior Pirates and the cultural center of giant-kind. Recurring characters expected to play roles in the arc include Dorry and Brogy (last seen in passing during the Whole Cake and Wano arcs), the warrior priest Hajrudin (a member of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet introduced in Dressrosa), and the broader political structure of the giants — a society organized around honor combat, religious tradition, and the legendary "Sun God" myth that ties directly into the broader Joy Boy lore established in Wano and Egghead.

The arc is also expected to continue the Final Saga's larger throughline — the Five Elders' pursuit of Vegapunk's research, the Void Century reveals, and the converging conflict between the Straw Hats and the World Government. Episode counts, plot developments, and arc length will continue updating as new episodes air; this guide is updated weekly.

Filler & Canon Breakdown

The Elbaph Arc currently contains zero filler episodes. Toei has continued the no-filler pace established during Egghead, and all aired episodes so far are direct manga adaptations. As an ongoing arc, this status may change — any future anime-original episodes will be flagged here and on the filler list as soon as they air.

The Elbaph Arc is ongoing and currently airing. It started with episode 1156 on April 5, 2026 and continues airing weekly. Final episode count will not be known until Toei concludes the arc — based on Final Saga pacing, expect anywhere from 50 to 100+ episodes.
+What's the current Elbaph episode?
The most recently aired episode is the latest one to drop on Crunchyroll, with new episodes airing every Sunday in Japan with same-day Crunchyroll release. For the live current episode count, see the current arc page.
+Why is Elbaph important in One Piece?
Elbaph has been foreshadowed since the Little Garden Arc (episodes 70-77, aired 2001), when the Straw Hats first met the giant warriors Dorry and Brogy and learned of the giants' homeland. Over two decades of broadcast time, Elbaph has been referenced as a culturally significant location tied to the Sun God myth, the Giant Warrior Pirates, and broader Final Saga lore. The Straw Hats' arrival is one of the most-anticipated visits in the series.
+What arc came before Elbaph?
The Egghead Arc (episodes 1086-1155) immediately precedes Elbaph and establishes most of the political setup — Vegapunk's broadcast, the Five Elders' direct intervention, and the Straw Hats' new fugitive status. See the Egghead Arc guide for context.
